John Cooper Clarke’s autobiography was always likely to be a vivid, engrossing read, but I Wanna Be Yours, out now in hardback, manages to exceed expectations. Everyone’s favourite spiky-haired performance poet conjures up a bygone age growing up around post-war, pre-punk Salford, and he’s unfailingly candid about his subsequent hazy days of fame and addiction.

We now have the book in stock and it’s likely to be a top seller for Christmas.

You can read more about Dr Clarke’s approach to writing it in this interview (by our own Andy Murray).
